DESCRIPTION:Join us with the Kalkaska County Recycling Center for the annual Tire Recycling Day! This event is made possible by a grant to the Recycling Center. Event guidelines are outlined below. Please contact the Recycling Center directly with any questions ( 231.384.1304 ). \nLimit 10 tires per household FREE of charge to Kalkaska County Residents. Proof of residency is required. \nTires accepted until semi trailers are full. \nAny tires after that are subject to regular disposal rates. \nAuto/Truck Tires $3.00 unmounted and $4.00 if on rim. \nNo commercial business or heavy equipment  tires. \nCannot accept tires larger than 4 feet tall or 12 inches wide.

Call 1-877-270-3519 to have them picked up at your door. \nACCEPTABLE ITEMS \nLimit of two major appliances – refrigerators and freezers must be tagged “Freon Free”. \nHousehold rubbish\, building materials (nothing over 6′)\, furniture\, mattresses\, chairs\, couches\, carpeting (cut to 6′ in length and tied)\, scrap metal\, etc. \nUNACCEPTABLE ITEMS \nTires\, batteries\, hazardous chemicals i.e. paint\, oil\, insecticides\, herbicides\, flammables and explosives. \nYard waste\, brush\, asphalt\, broken concrete.
